Self Interaction

The theme of this project is caring about the relationship between physical performance and mental movement. It aims to make a combination of heart rate monitoring kits and activewear, to build a bridge from fashion aesthetic stage to functional innovation, so as to bring a more fresher sense of garments resonance to wearers and the industry.
As we can see that fashion creativity and scientific research eager more to reach out to both fields currently, this trend inspired the exploration shows in the project. I want to present externalized and internalized expressions about the interaction between mentality and our body via a more practical way from this cross-border project. This project can also provide a warm and healing side of functional kits.

Normally, physical performance can be showed by data while doing sports, so that I think we may know more about our mental stage from this point to explore ourselves instead of data recording only.
The design development started from the trajectories of different body parts during movement to develop tailoring and pattern cutting. Based on the research of the study results of ECG monitoring technology, I incorporated relevant technology-concept materials such as elastic conductive fibers or textiles. The research of pattern cutting helped to make sports movement changing and ECG MONITORING electronic materials together.
In addition, I extracted what I analysed for sports emotion in colour management, like sense of joyful or more emotion while doing sports. The colour blocks on different patterns show human muscle structures and an active atmosphere of movement, infusing different layers and changes in whole collection.
Generally, I hope to establish the interactive library of motion representation of fashion, this project could be a carrier to make the emphasis of fashion and professional sportswear and complement each other so as to produce more humanized, sustainable and sports fashion.
