Blue Archive

As a textile designer from Pakistan, I grew up surrounded by garments that carried stories. Wedding outfits were carefully folded away, heirlooms were passed between generations, and old family photographs preserved silhouettes that have slowly disappeared from everyday life. I began to wonder: if we preserve our memories so carefully, why do we so easily discard the materials and craftsmanship that created them?

Blue Archive is my response to that question.

The collection transforms discarded denim into handwoven textiles inspired by traditional Pakistani dress, creating garments that blur the line between archive and contemporary fashion. Every woven panel is developed by hand using off-loom weaving techniques, embracing a slower, more intentional process that values time, craftsmanship, and material over speed and excess.

For me, sustainability is not only about reducing waste, it is about preserving what is at risk of being forgotten. Through this collection, I wanted to protect fading silhouettes, honour textile traditions, and give discarded materials a second life with renewed meaning.

Blue Archive is an invitation to see clothing differently: not as something temporary, but as something that carries memory. By weaving together waste, heritage, and craftsmanship, I hope to show that the most sustainable garments are often the ones we form an emotional connection with, the ones whose stories make us want to keep them for a lifetime.
